JORDAN’S SLIDE FOR SUDEP WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!!!

The first ever Jordan’s Slide For SUDEP took place on Friday, February 24th, 2012 at Beaver Valley Ski Club. It was a day to celebrate Jordan’s life with family and friends, and bring awareness to SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected/Unexplained Death in Epilepsy).
The first ever fund raising event was a huge success with 175 people attending and raising $20,000 for SUDEP Aware a not-for-profit organization that works to improve knowledge and understanding of SUDEP.
With winter being Jordan’s favourite time of year, it was a natural choice to celebrate her wonderful life while sliding on the slopes of Beaver Valley where she spent most of her winters. Great fun was had by all skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, plus some indoor activities too. Todd Brooker, former Olympian and World Cup Champion was the Event Ambassador hosting Jordan’s Fun Slalom Race and sharing Todd’s Tips along the way. A buffet lunch and apres ski snacks filled everyone up while listening to the wonderful music of Fred Hale and Kenny Munshaw. Then came the abundant bucket draw prizes and exciting LIVE auction thanks to the many in-kind sponsors!!!
A very special thank you to EVERYONE who participated and/or contributed to Jordan’s Slide. The day was everything we hoped it would be! The Fawcett family extend our heartfelt appreciation for your constant love and support in building Jordan’s legacy!

Jordan’s Slide For SUDEP was a huge success thanks to all who attended and the many generous sponsors!!!! We more than achieved our objectives of celebrating Jordan’s life with family and friends on the slopes (Jo’s favourite thing to do in the winter, AND raising awareness for SUDEP!!! Not to mention the generosity of everyone raised $20,000 for SUDEP Aware!!! Our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who attended and/or contributed to the event!!!
